This exquisite doll has never been out of the box. Made in 1998; comes with Doll, Coat, Halter top, Skirt, Earrings, Shoes, Doll Stand and COA. Original packing is still intact but there is damage on the front of the box (a corner jab). This doll has been stored in a non-smoking environment. Grab this one at a great price! Madame du Barbie is unbelievably breathtaking! Tenth in a series of Barbie dolls designed by Bob Mackie, in the original box. Includes a signed 17" x 14" drawing of Bob Mackie's vision on this dress, a Certificate of Authenticity, and collection brochure. The dress is designed with the Rococo Era in mind... Her dress glitters with thousands of beads and sequins.

The opulent collar and headdress that frame her lovely face are embroidered in Silvery and White swirls. Lavishly encrusted with luminescent and pearlescent beads and sequins in Lavender, Blue, Pink and Silver color. Her elbow-length sleeves are sequined, then trimmed with tulle, which falls to her wrists in delicate ruffles. Below her tightly fitted, embroidered bodice, a full skirt extends with a pannier-like effect.

Lavish swirls echoing the pattern on her collar and headdress accent the skirt, which divides two reveal a stunning center panel of lattice-work sparked with tiny diamond-like beads. Edging the entire gown are Silvery embroidery and beads. Underneath are layers of a gathered tulle Petticoat, as well as lace-trim, taffeta, pantaloons, with attached stockings and pearlescent boots. Reflecting the style of the period, her upswept hair is powdered and sculpted high. Her coiffure is enchanted by the dramatic head piece with its plume of frothy ruffled tulle.

A crystal hair ornament just touches her brow, while a provocative pearl is swept over her shoulder in the manner of the era. We have lots of Barbies in our store - along with other dolls!
